Changes Coming to Mattapan Square for Pedestrians
The Boston Transportation is working with its consultants, Toole Design, to improve pedestrian crossings between River St., Cummins Highway, and Blue Hill Ave. The first changes will be small, but they want the community to be on the lookout for those experiments. Major or permanent changes won't happen before there is a public meeting.

Thursday, August 23: How Can City Parks Address Inequity?
At 6:00 pm in the Rabb Auditorium at the Copley Square Branch of the Boston Public Library, join The Norman B. Leventhal Map & Education Center and The Trust for Public Land for a relevant panel discussion about the ways that public open spaces can address interwoven health, social, economic, and environmental inequities. Following a question-and-answer session, audience members and panelists are invited to view the Leventhal Center’s current exhibition, Breathing Room: Mapping Boston’s Green Spaces.
This event is free but seating is limited, so be sure to RSVP at parks4all.eventbrite.com

Mattapan on Wheels on July 21
The Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition Vigorous Youth held their 8th Mattapan on Wheels (MoW) Bike-a-thon on Saturday, July 21. This year the three rides started on the Neponset Trail heading towards Hyde Park and Quincy! During MoW, riders of all ages and skill levels come together, get physically active and work to make Mattapan a more bike-friendly neighborhood. After the ride, there was a great salad bar and grilled food with Mattapan partners and Governor Baker at the 13th Annual Hoops and Scoops event!
