MassTrails announced at 2018 Moving Together Conference
Each year the conference continues to bring together transportation leaders and individuals involved in the areas of planning, public health, bike and pedestrian safety, transit, advocacy, elected office, law enforcement and education. This year, MassTrails was announced, coordinating trails activities of the Department of Transportation, the Department of Conservation, and the Executive Office of Energy and Environment. This will help the Neponset Trail's next stages of construction, both north from Tenean Beach and south to the Blue Hills because all of those agencies need to be involved to make it work.

Draft Massachusetts Bikeability Guide Available
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) also announced last week at its annual Moving Together Conference that the Draft Municipal Resource Guide for Bikeability is available for public comment. You can review the plan by clicking here. MassDOT wants your feedback on this DRAFT guide. Please email Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Coordinator Pete Sutton at Peter.sutton@state.ma.us or mail your comments to: MassDOT Office of Transportation Planning, 10 Park Plaza, Suite 4150, Boston MA 02116. Please submit those comments by December 1st, 2018.

Changes Coming to Mattapan Square for Pedestrians
The Boston Transportation Department continues to work with its consultants, Toole Design, to improve pedestrian crossings between River St., Cummins Highway, and Blue Hill Ave. The first changes will be small, but they want the community to be on the lookout for those experiments. Major or permanent changes won't happen before there is a public meeting.
